Research on the Effectiveness of Task-based Language Teaching in Higher Education

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of task-based language teaching in higher education. Through investigation and analysis of the application of task-based language teaching in higher education institutions, the research results show that task-based language teaching can improve students' language proficiency, enhance their learning interest and motivation, promote their self-learning ability and teamwork ability. The study also found that task-based language teaching can effectively enhance students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities, especially their oral and writing abilities. This teaching method involves designing diverse language tasks to enable students to engage in language practice in practical contexts, thereby improving their language proficiency. In addition, task-based language teaching also has a positive effect on enhancing learning motivation and interest. By stimulating students' inner interests and improving their learning enthusiasm, task-based language teaching helps to enhance their learning motivation and improve their learning outcomes. In summary, the effectiveness of task-based language teaching in higher education has been confirmed. This teaching method can improve students' language proficiency, enhance their interest and motivation in learning, and promote the cultivation of self-directed learning and teamwork abilities. Therefore, it is recommended to promote task-based language teaching in higher education in order to improve teaching quality and promote the comprehensive development of students.
