Reliability of special vehicles' steel plate reflects their protection ability; it thus is important to evaluate and improve the reliability of their steel plate. The paper studies the influence of the steel plate's material parameters on its reliability in bullet penetration scenarios, where a reliability measurement model and a reliability sensitivity model are established. In the reliability measurement model, a finite element model and an intrusion simulation are constructed to obtain dangerous stress values and random material variables samples, and a BP network-based limit state function and the advanced firstorder second-moment method are then used to calculate the reliability indicator. Matrix differentiation method is exploited to obtain the reliability sensitivity corresponding to each material parameter. The results show that the mean and standard deviation of the Poisson ratio significantly affect the steel plate's reliability. In addition, the material' density affects the steel plate's reliability more than the elastic modulus. Modeling reliability and reliability sensitivity improves the theory of designing and optimizing special vehicles' bulletproof steel plates.

The significance of the influence of uncertainty and stochastic approach-related problems on engineering system analysis is now evident and irrefutable. On the other hand, considering the factors that apply these uncertainties in the findings should need a significant amount of computing cost and effort, which is why researchers are always looking for approaches that combine high calculation accuracy with speed. One of the most useful tools for analyzing systems with uncertainty in computational stochastic mechanics is the spectral stochastic finite element method. In the present paper, by applying uncertainty to the applied loads and elastic modulus, this method has been developed to analyze the structures with nonlinear materials, and a method called the nonlinear spectral stochastic finite element method (NLSSFEM) has been proposed. The results obtained from the used method have been compared with the results obtained from the Monte Carlo simulation method. The accuracy of calculations and the speed of access to the solution of the proposed method are evaluated as desirable.

The computational burden becomes unbearable when reliability analysis involves time-consuming finite element analysis, especially for rare events. Therefore, reducing the number of performance function calls is the only way to improve computing efficiency. This paper proposes a novel reliability analysis method that combines relevant vector machine (RVM) and improved cross-entropy adaptive sampling (iCE). In this method, RVM is employed to approximate the limit state surface and iCE is performed based on the constructed RVM. To guarantee the precision of RVM, the first level samples and the last level samples of iCE are used as candidate samples and the last level samples are regenerated along with the RVM updates. To prevent unnecessary updates of RVM, the proposed method considers the positions of the samples in the current design of experiment. In addition, based on the statistical properties of RVM and iCE, an error-based stopping criterion is proposed. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method were validated through four benchmark examples. Finally, the proposed method is applied to engineering problems which are working in extreme environment.
