Research on Process Mineralogy of Potassium-Rich Shale

Abstract: The process mineralogy of potassium-rich shale from Chaoyang of Liaoning, China, was studied. Research results showed there are much less variety and smaller quantities in mineral compositions. Calculated mineral composition by means of chemical composition analysis combined with XRD, MLA, IR and TG-DSC analyses showed that main minerals with were Potassium-feldspar, muscovite, biotite and illite, and gangue minerals were quartz and small amounts of hematite. Potassium-rich minerals such as potassium-feldspar … Show more

“…It is difficult to dress this kind ore and the cost is high. Because of the uncontrollable factors in geological exploration and mining work, it is inevitable that some wasted rock is mixed in the useful ore during in the mining work and the grade of the ore in the stope becomes further low [1]. The wasted rock seriously reduced the effective utilization of the dressing machine and increases the energy consumption and has a adversely effect to the finally beneficiation indexes [2].…”
