Research on Operation Performance of Multi-heat Source Complementary System of Combined Drying Based on TRNSYS

Abstract

In this paper, a multi-heat source complementary system of combined drying was designed, which used three heat sources, solar energy, heat pump, and combustion furnace, with two drying technologies, hot air drying and vacuum drying. The simulation model of the multi-heat source complementary system of combined drying was established based on TRNSYS. Using the meteorological parameters of Xi'an as input, and the correctness of the model was verified by a comparison of experiments and simulations. The overall error is between 2.0% and 13.3%. The model was used to predict the performance parameters, operating energy consumption, and operating costs of the system. The results show that the operating energy consumption of the system is affected by season, with solar energy and heat pumps being more significant. The annual operating cost of the multi-source complementary heating mode is reduced by 0.68%~42.6% compared with other heating modes, and its carbon emission is reduced by 2.5%~33.1% compared with other heating modes, thus reducing energy consumption and cost.
