Research on Multi-View 3D Reconstruction Technology Based on SFM

Abstract: Multi-view 3D reconstruction technology is used to restore a 3D model of practical value or required objects from a group of images. This paper designs and implements a set of multi-view 3D reconstruction technology, adopts the fusion method of SIFT and SURF feature-point extraction results, increases the number of feature points, adds proportional constraints to improve the robustness of feature-point matching, and uses RANSAC to eliminate false matching. In the sparse reconstruction stage, the traditional in… Show more

“…Then, the FLANN matching algorithm [25] matches the feature points to different images. Finally, the traditional 3D reconstruction algorithm -SFM algorithm [26] is used to reconstruct the above-processed photos, which can be divided into incremental, global, hybrid, hierarchical, and semantic-based methods of the SFM algorithm [30][31][32]. A hierarchical algorithm is used for image 3D reconstruction, as shown in Figure 6.…”

“…These methods have found wide applications in precision agriculture, geographic surveying, archaeology, and others [17]. SfM is a commonly used sparse reconstruction algorithm that aims to reconstruct the 3D coordinates of image feature points [18]. MVS leverages the camera model based on SfM to compute the camera poses and conducts dense reconstruction to recover the geometric information of the scene [19].…”

“…Then under the framework of structure from motion (SfM) [ 3 ] the spatial information of the scenes can be reconstructed from the images captured over time. For example, Gao et al designed a set of multi-view 3D reconstruction technology based on SFM and obtained the external parameters of the camera and the sparse point-cloud model [ 4 ]. Wang et al integrated the fringe light projection with SfM to realize a global dense point cloud reconstruction system [ 5 ].…”
