Research on modeling and mechanical behaviors of matched angular contact ball bearings

Abstract: In engineering applications, angular contact ball bearings are usually mounted in pairs to accommodate the high-speed and heavy-load conditions. The usability, security, and stability of rotating machinery systems are heavily dependent on the mechanical behaviors of matched angular contact ball bearings. However, few related works about matched bearings have been reported. Consequently, it is of great significance to investigate the mechanical properties of matched bearings. This paper presents an analysis of … Show more

“…Similarly, in order to improve the applicability of Jones's analysis model, Lin et al 18 proposed a five-degrees-of-freedom quasi-static model for double row angular contact ball bearing with different structures (face-to-face, back-to-back and tandem) and different preloading modes (constant pressure preloading and fixed position preloading). Different from the previous researchers, Gu and Zhang 19 applied the coordinate transformation method to the quasi-static analysis model, and used this model to analyze the stiffness characteristics of the combined bearing. Furthermore, the life of the combined bearing is predicted, and the predicted results are basically consistent with the experimental results, which shows that their model is effective.…”
