The evaluation and selection among the best production practices beyond the conventional linear models is, nowadays, concerned with those holistic approaches drawn toward environmental assessment in industry. Therefore, researchers need to develop an analysis that can evaluate the performance of industrial organization in the light of their environmental viewpoint. This study implemented a pilot co-integrated scheme based on an innovative in-house Holistic Assessment Performance Index for Environment (HAPI-E) industry tool while assimilating the principles of circular economy through the Eco-innovation Development and Implementation Tool (EDIT). For the latter, nine qualitative indicators were motivated and enriched the weighting criteria of the questionnaire. The decomposition of the complexity and preferences mapping was accompanied by a multi-criteria holistic hierarchical analysis methodology in order to synthesize a single index upon a need-driven scoring. This multi-criteria decision approach in industry can quantify the material and process flows, thus enhancing the existing knowledge of manipulating internal resources. The key-criteria were based on administrative, energy, water, emissions, and waste strategies. Subsequently, the HAPI-E industry tool was modeled on the food industry, being particularly focused on pasta-based industrial production. Then, the parameters of this tool were modeled, measured, and evaluated in terms of the environmental impact awareness. The magnitude of necessary improvements was unveiled, while future research orientations were discussed. The HAPI-E industry tool can be utilized as a precautionary methodology on sustainable assessment while incorporating multifaceted and quantification advantages.

The accurate prediction of road traffic determines the rationality of road design. Otherwise, the road capacity may be underused or insufficient to meet the logistics demand. Based on the regional demand theory and the analysis of regional logistics demand, this paper sets up a complete index system for road logistics demand, and combined gray model and backpropagation (BP) neural network into an integrated forecast model for logistical demand. To verify its performance, the proposed model, the gray model and the BP neural network were subjected to an empirical analysis. The results show that our model outperformed the contrastive models in forecast accuracy. The research results lay the basis for accurate prediction of logistics demand in road transport.

Six rain fed rice varieties from INERA (National Institute for Agronomic Study and Research) YANGAMBI center were cultivated at INERA GIMBI station. The objective was to get high yield rain fed rice varieties adapted to Seke-Banza area conditions in view to increase farmers' production and to reduce import of rice in the country. This evaluation will also permit the diversification of rain fed rice varieties in investigation area. Randomized bloc design with four replications was used to evaluate the height of plant at the end of flowering (cm), number of days for plant flowering, number of maturity days, diseases resistance, number of panicles per square meter, weight of 1000 grains (g), grains yield (t/ha) and panicle length (cm). Compared to control (NERICA4), significant difference was detected between tested materials (P≥0.05). All varieties produced high values of evaluated parameters than control. Three varieties were more effective: NERICA11 (4.942 t/ha), LIENGE (4.514 t/ha) and WAB 897-B-B-B-B-2 (4.183 t/ha). Evaluated materials were found to be resistant to diseases but susceptible to attacks of borer insects. Weight of 1000 grains was correlated to the plants height, the panicles length and the grains yield. Number of panicles/m² was correlated to grains yield and to panicles length. A positive correlation was observed between grains yield and panicles length. Number of days for plants flowering was correlated to number of maturity days. Tested materials can be cultivated in Seke-Banza area conditions in order to improve farms rain fed rice production, increase their income and contribute to reduce rice import in the country.
