Research on Key Technologies to Improve Cementing Displacement Efficiency

Abstract: The annulus has a wide and narrow clearance due to casing eccentricity in the cementing process and due to the eccentricity of casing in the process of cementing. Because the flow resistance of the drilling fluid in the wide gap is less than that in the narrow gap, the phenomena of a delayed flow or even an overall nonflow occurs in the narrow gap. Based on the existing displacement efficiency calculation model, this paper establishes the cementing displacement efficiency model under the condition of oil-based… Show more

“…The reason for this is that carbon fiber, as a fiber with high strength and high elastic modulus, can significantly toughen oil well cement. 26 Based on the original cement slurry formulation, the flexibilizer was introduced and the amount of filtrate reducer and dispersant was increased. The optimized formula is 600 g of G-grade cement + 40% strengthening agent + 4.5% flexibilizer + 2% suspension agent + 6% filtrate reducer + 3% dispersant + 4.5% retarder + water; the ratio of liquid to solid is 0.42, and its density is 1.9 g/cm 3 .…”

“…The cement slurry system must be optimized by increasing the flexibilizer (calcium carbonate whisker), which has good compatibility with cement-based materials and is an ideal reinforcing material. The reason for this is that carbon fiber, as a fiber with high strength and high elastic modulus, can significantly toughen oil well cement …”
