Research on Interactive Visualization Clustering Method Based on the Radar Chart

Abstract: Most algorithms for the high-dimensional data clustering are not intuitive and the clustering results are difficult to explain. To solve these problems, a new method based on the interactive visualization technology was proposed in this paper. First, the entropy-weight was adopted to determine the main attributes and how to arrange them. Every data was described in an improved radar chart in which polar radius stood by attribute values and polar angles stood by the attribute weights. Then the points in the rad… Show more

“…In order to solve non-uniqueness problem of evaluation result of radar chart method, reference [28] proposes the improvement of using diagonal line to change triangle region to quadrangle region and solves the problem of index sequence impacting evaluation results. Reference [29,30] improves the radar chart and feature vectors, which can achieve the quantitative and qualitative assessment to assessment objectives. In this paper, the authors will synthesize the idea of the above documents and make the following improvements to traditional radar chart method:…”

“…In this paper, the radar chart, which is a two-dimensional chart for describing three or more variables using multiple axes from one point [15], is employed to evaluate the performance of the algorithm proposed. The size of radar chart indicates the performance states of object to be evaluated and it is helpful for diagnosis and control.…”
