Research on Hybrid Real-Time Picking Routing Optimization Based on Multiple Picking Stations

Abstract: In the order picking process of the warehouse center, considering the rapid increase in the volume of orders arriving at the picking center at the time of the promotional festival, a hybrid operation mode with multiple picking tables is used to meet the picking requirements of the huge number of real-time orders. Therefore, in this paper, a hybrid picking mode is proposed, taking into account both the idle degree of picking stations and their order item centers of gravity, and a new reinforcement learning algo… Show more

“…Real-time demonstrations showcased the success rate of the algorithm in navigating towards fire or light sources while maintaining obstacle avoidance. Moving to warehouse operations, Wang et al [44] proposed a hybrid picking mode for real-time order picking in warehouse centers. Multiple picking stations were utilized to handle a large number of orders arriving at inconsistent quantities.…”

“…Vehicle capacity, route design, freight distribution, and personnel distribution in the impacted areas are all important variable parameters for the routing instances to be able to be scheduled effectively. Inconsistent and subpar service at the point of demand can result from facility allocation's frequent dealings with limited facility resources, high demand, and high pressure Wang, Jiang, Ma, & Shen, 2022). The decision of how to distribute and transfer resources according to demand necessity is one of the most crucial steps in planning and automating the multi-objective routing process (Shi et al, 2020;Stodola, 2018).…”
