Research on Electronic Voltage Transformer for Big Data Background

Abstract: A new type of electronic voltage transformer is proposed in this study for big data background. By using the conventional inverted SF_6 transformer insulation structure, a coaxial capacitor sensor was constructed by designing a middle coaxial electrode between the high-voltage electrode and the ground electrode. The measurement of the voltage signal could be obtained by detecting the capacitance current i of the SF_6 coaxial capacitor. To improve the accuracy of the integrator, a high-precision digital integra… Show more

“…e Capacitor Voltage Transformer (CVT) has high dielectric strength, fast transient response, wide dynamic range, low power consumption, and nonferromagnetic resonance with power systems. It also can reduce the head steepness of lightning shock and be used as a coupling capacitor for the power carrier communication [1][2][3][4]. us, it is widely applied in power systems from 35 to 1000 kV.…”

“…The capacitor voltage transformers (CVTs) have already been the most widely used voltage transformer in the high voltage (HV) and ultra-high voltage (UHV) power system [1][2][3] . The internal structure of CVTs is much more complicated compared with the conventional electromagnetic potential transformers (PTs), which leads to worse long-term stability and susceptibility to external electromagnetic interference 4,5 . Besides, the insulation of CVTs is prone to be aged after long-term operation, and the over voltage in the power system and the partial discharge in the CVT may cause irreversible damage to the insulation of CVTs 6 .…”
