Research on dynamic response of multi-layer beam system considering random interlayer parameters

Abstract: To study the influence of interlayer stiffness and interlayer damping on the dynamic response of multi-layer beams under moving loads, a method for calculating the dynamic response of a multi-layer beam system considering random interlayer stiffness or random interlayer damping under successive moving loads based on the Karhunen–Loéve expansion and point estimation method is proposed. The accuracy of the proposed method was verified by using several numerical examples. The influence of interlayer stiffness, in… Show more

“…The double-beam structure, usually connected by translational and rotational springs, is a commonly used composite structure in various engineering fields (Liu and Yang, 2019; Zhao et al, 2022). Compared with the single beam, the system composed of two or multiple beam elements can be more functional and applicable due to its intrinsic advantages, such as richer vibration modes, higher strength-to-weight ratio, and so on (Li et al, 2023; Rezaiee-Pajand and Hozhabrossadati, 2014; Zhou et al, 2022). Based on these dynamic properties, many applications of double-beam have been conducted for vibration suppression, energy harvesting, and multifunctional design (Peng et al, 2022).…”
