Research on Dynamic Characteristic of Marine Shafting-Oil Film-Stern Structure System

Abstract: The working conditions of the propulsion system of ships are affected by many factors and partially by hull deformations and lubricating oil film. In order to solve the problem of engineering application of reliability assessment and control of ship propulsion system on heavy sea, a mechanical model of ship shafting-oil film-stern structure coupled system is established. The hull and shafting are studied as a whole, and a test rig with the wave loads system is assembled. By carrying out the integrative analysi… Show more

“…The above equations are coupled to each other in which the coupling term in the stiffness matrix is called elastic coupling. It is difficult to decouple them directly [10], therefore, iterative steps for solving equations ( 7), (8), and ( 9) are described below: -The partial differential equation of the impacted ship motion, the dynamics equation of the shafting-oil film-stern structure system and the contact conditions of the impact point are considered, and programmed for calculation.…”

“…Dynamic loads are taken into account while designing concrete [1] and aerospace [2] structures, tunnels [3], deeply buried constructions [4], propulsion system of ships [5], reinforced polymer structures in civil engineering [6] and many other fields. In those fields engineers deal with mechanical characteristics of different materials such as for example metals or composites.…”
