Research on conformal reflectarray for RCS enhancement in specific angular domain

Abstract: In this paper, a new application scenario for the conformal reflectarray is proposed. A conformal reflectarray element composed of a split ring and two arcs acting as phase shift lines is adopted. The phase shift between 0° and 360° is achieved by adjusting the length of the two arc lines. A new phase distribution calculation method is proposed to achieve a 10‐dB enhancement of monostatic radar cross section (RCS) at 15° to 30° of the tail of the missile. Projectiles (missile body) with and without the conform… Show more

“…Additionally, RCS enhancement devices can also play a crucial role in weather monitoring systems, aiding in the accurate detection and tracking of severe weather phenomena. Furthermore, by modifying the radar signature of ships and maritime vessels, these devices can enhance their detectability and identification, contributing to improved maritime security, navigation, and collision avoidance [1,2,3,4,5,6]. Traditional backscatter enhancement devices, such as corner reflectors [9,10], utilize multiple reflective surfaces arranged in a specific geometric configuration to redirect incident radar waves back towards the source.…”

“…As antennas play an increasingly important role in modern electronic systems, antenna measurements are evolving dramatically. [1][2][3] Antenna measurement mainly includes three methods: far-field measurement, nearfield measurement, and compact range measurement. Traditional far-field measurement is to measure the farfield characteristics of antennas directly.…”
