Research of the Model of Distributed E-Commerce Based on Grid Services

Abstract

As the development of e-commerce, many new ecommerce models, such as B2B2C, are emerging. In the traditional e-commerce environment, when customers search for certain merchandise, they have to visit diferent websites time after time because of the lack of a unified and integrated center of e-commerce. On the other hand, many distributed business resources can not be shared sufficiently and efficiently, such as business logic services. The paper first introduces a new distributed e-commerce model based on grid service. The model supplies a platform of access to business data and business resources with a unifiedform, which facilitates e-commerce clients. The technology and principle related to the model are researched deeply, including the model of semantic transform based on XML technology, the model ofdata integration based on OGSA-DAI and the mechanism of sharing distributed resources based on grid services Finally it presents a frame ofa simple instance.1. The problems on distributed e-commerce As the development of e-commerce, the commercial condition is becoming more and more complicated.Many new e-commerce models are emerging as well. The traditional model and technology are facing great challenge. There are the following limitations in the traditional e-commerce model:(1) For customers, because of the lack of a unified and integrated center of e-commerce, they have to visit the websites of different companies time after time and analyze mass of information to search for merchandises in which they are interested. This has caused great inconvenience to customers.(2) The distribution of business resources is unbalanced. There is "information isolated islands" for e-commerce companies. The lack of resource in small ecommerce companies obstructs their progress of ecommerce. This results in a big waste of business resources [1] (3) As the condition of IT is turning more and more complicated, the cost for constructing and maintaining e-commerce system is increasing.If the public business resources of all e-commerce companies could be integrated in a unified e-commerce platform and a series of immediate-usable, functionconsummated, reassuring e-commerce service and the standardized flows are supplied in the platform, these resources would be used efficiently and shared sufficiently. This will facilitate e-commerce clients greatly. The goal of integrating all e-commerce applications will be achieved in e-commerce domain in the long run.The grid technology has supplied theoretical and technical foundation for the above-mentioned supposition.
