Abstract:Certain per-or polyfluoroalkyl substances [e.g., fluorotelomer alcohols (FtOHs), perfluorooctane sulfonamides (FOSAs), and perfluorooctane sulfonamidoethanols (FOSEs)] have sufficient volatility to merit investigation of the vapor intrusion pathway on a site-specific basis, when they occur as subsurface contaminants in sufficient concentrations near occupied buildings.
