Social networks are an example of complex systems consisting of nodes that can interact with each other and based on these activities the social relations are defined. The dynamics and evolution of social networks are very interesting but at the same time very challenging areas of research. In this paper the formation and growth of one of such structures extracted from data about human activities within online social networking system is investigated. Dynamics of both local and global characteristics are studied. Analysis of the dynamics of the network growth showed that it changes over time-from random process to power-law growth. The phase transition between those two is clearly visible. In general, node degree distribution can be described as the scale-free but it does not emerge straight from the beginning. Social networks are known to feature high clustering coefficient and friend-ofa-friend phenomenon. This research has revealed that in online social network, although the clustering coefficient grows over time, it is lower than expected. Also the friend-of-a-friend phenomenon is missing. On the other hand, the length of the shortest paths is small starting from the beginning of the network existence so the small-world phenomenon is present. The unique element of the presented study is that the data, from which the online social network was extracted, represents interactions between users from the beginning of the social networking site existence.

Abstract. The modern society is characterized by qualitative changes in the volumes, composition and significance of collected and processed data. This data reflects the condition of the real and virtual world surrounding people and it is used for respective impact on the real and virtual world. All this requires theoretical generalizations that form a single conceptual platform as for managers working with the real world and for knowledge management professionals who work with the virtual world. The traditional model of taking decisions in management indirectly reflects the significance of knowledge and other elements of the virtual world for taking effective decisions which have impact on the real world. However the process of forming knowledge is not reflected in these models. Traditional models of knowledge management mainly concentrate on the internal transformation processes "data-information-knowledge-wisdom" which further are used for taking decisions.

Advances in information technology prompt a tremendous usage growth of the Internet. Online activities, such as e-commerce, social interaction, etc., have drawn increasing attentions in regard to the provision of personalized services which require best and comprehensive understanding of users. As an approach, this study outlines a general framework based on human (or consumer) contexts for the discovery and creation of business intelligence. Three major portions are discussed. First, the collection of human contexts, including activity logs in both cyber and physical worlds, is modeled. Second, data analysis was performed via proposed mining algorithms that concern potential fusion at different levels according to situations and ultimate purposes. Third, sustenance of developed model is then concentrated. An open platform was developed to support the evolutionary process of human models, and to allow contributions (e.g., data sharing, accessing, etc.) from third parties.
