Research and Development of Adjustable Discontinuous Pulse Width Modulation Method for Three-Phase Voltage Source Inverter

Abstract: Continuous pulse width modulation (CPWM) and discontinuous pulse width modulation (DPWM) strategies are used to control voltage source inverter operation. CPWM strategies allow for the reduction of total harmonic distortion values, while DPWM strategies provide a more effective reduction in inverter switching losses. The paper is devoted to the problem of improving the three-phase voltage source inverter efficiency by a controlled transition from CPWM to DPWM. The article proposes an adjustable discontinuous p… Show more

“…This paper aims to research the method proposed by the authors [14] which allows for the minimization of the current curve distortions when a single-phase load is powered by an inverter with four transistor legs. The essence of the method is to single out zero sequence voltage from phase load curves.…”

“…In this paper, the DC output of the boost converter is converted to a three-phase AC supply connected to the grid. Many pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques were used to control such a voltage source inverter (VSI) [18]. The conventional control method yields a series of algebraic numerical methods.…”
