<p>Se tuvo como objetivo evaluar el desempeño de programas académicos de pregrado de la Universidad Nacional Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza de Amazonas (UNTRM), para lo cual se consideró 21 programas académicos de pregrado con ingresantes en el año 2019 y que presentaban sostenibilidad en la demanda de ingresantes; a través de una investigación descriptiva se evaluó los siguientes indicadores de desempeño: Cantidad de docentes de dictaron cursos, aulas asignadas a los cursos, laboratorios empleados, estudiantes matriculados, y egresados en el 2019; cantidad de publicaciones, cantidad de proyectos asignados. Se determinó que en el año 2019 en los programas académicos en pregrado considerados, 732 profesionales impartieron clases para una población estudiantil de 7121. De otro lado, se identificó que 97 proyectos benefician directamente en términos académicos e investigativos; y además se identificó que hasta mayo del 2020 se registraba un total de 395, donde los autores emplearon la filiación de la Universidad, y de estas 83 publicaciones fueron en revistas de alto impacto. Se concluye que la universidad presenta un progresivo incremento en su desempeño, sobre todo a partir de la nueva ley universitaria y en base a las nuevas políticas de educación superior universitaria para asegurar la calidad educativa en los programas académicos de pregrado.</p>

The article describes a new idea about using Factor Analysis, Mixed Data, and Hierarchical Cluster Analysis on Principal Components to study the academic performance in 82 Industrial Engineering Programs in Colombia. For this, we used the data from the results of the standardized test of the Saber Pro.). The authors find that the first three components explain 89.12% of the original data set variability. The quantitative variables associated with the Factor Analysis are the first dimension, while the two qualitative variables are related to the second dimension. The first factor explains 95.83% of the dispersion of the scores in Critical Reading, 94.72% of the variability in Quantitative Reasoning, 94.51% of the variation in Mathematics and Statistics, among others. This study shows a strong positive correlation between the quantitative variables and the first factorial axis. It assumes that the Industrial Engineering Programs of public higher education institutions perform better than private ones. The article stipulates that the higher education institutions belonging to the Andean Region present a better performance, followed by the higher education institutions located in the Pacific Region. In general terms, the results confirm that the best performing universities usually appear in the first places in the different rankings and are located in the big cities.

The growing popularity of art majors is overshadowed by the difficulty for art graduates to find a decent job. The teaching and research (T&R) performance of art majors should be evaluated comprehensively, such as to optimize resource allocation and improve teaching quality. Based on performance evaluation theory and input-output theory, this paper summarizes the features, problems and problem causes of performance evaluation for art majors. From the dimensions of teaching and research, a comprehensive index system was designed for T&R performance evaluation of art majors. On this basis, a performance evaluation model was constructed for art majors through principal component analysis (PCA). Finally, single-factor evaluation and comprehensive evaluation were conducted by our model on the T&R performance of the school of art design and school of industrial design in a university. The results show that: The performance evaluation of art majors is a small-scale yet complex and professional task, but the current evaluation methods lack sufficient attention, professionality, and targeted indices. The school of art design had a slightly higher ratio of excellent theses than the school of industrial design, reflecting the difference between the two schools in teaching results and quality. The school of industrial design invested much more than the school of art design. Both schools had improved the T&R outputs and comprehensive performance score since 2011, and the school of industrial design made the greater improvement in the comprehensive performance score. The research sheds new light on comprehensive evaluation of T&R performance in art majors.
