“…Finally, articles published related to general professional issues influencing supervision and training ( n = 27, 19%) included (a) licensure issues in supervision, (b) advocacy, (c) identity development, (d) gatekeeping and remediation, and (e) general scale development (e.g., Cureton et al, 2019). Licensure issues were addressed across two qualitative articles in two separate journals this year, qualitatively evaluating state requirements for supervisors to be eligible to provide supervision as well as highlighting a reduction in the number of states that lack specialty licenses or requirements for supervisors (Field et al, 2019), whereas the other article focused on rules and laws across 53 licensing jurisdictions, indicating a lack of consistency in supervisory guidelines (Henriksen et al, 2019).…”
