Abstract:Bobtail squids (Family Sepiolidae) have a variety of sperm storage patterns, but their reproductive biology has not been studied in many species, especially those in Japanese waters. Two species, Austrorossia bipapillata (Subfamily Rossiinae) and Sepiolina nipponensis (Subfamily Heteroteuthinae) inhabit Suruga Bay in Japan.
