Esta investigación analizó la forma en que se representó la discapacidad en los tres medios digitales periodísticos más leídos en el Perú (El Comercio, La República y Trome) entre marzo de 2020 y junio de 2022. Para ello, se empleó un enfoque mixto. Se revisó una muestra de noticias en línea (n = 300) cuantitativamente, a través del análisis de contenido, y cualitativamente, organizando los discursos sobre la discapacidad en cuatro tipos: peligrosidad, caridad, integración y carga social. Al analizar las secciones temáticas, se evidenció que la discapacidad no se suele abordar desde un punto de vista político ni se genera mucho debate al respecto. La niñez con discapacidad apareció (26,67 %) en las noticias con función informativa. Además, de los cuatro tipos de discurso identificados, el de integración estuvo presente en más del 50 % de la muestra. El análisis bivariado mostró varios cruces estadísticamente significativos. Por ejemplo, a las personas con discapacidad psicosocial y a los hombres se les suele representar como peligrosos, mientras que el modelo de caridad prevalece al presentar personas con discapacidad física y en el diario Trome. Los resultados demuestran que se requiere incluir los descriptores demográficos de las personas para evaluar adecuadamente las representaciones de la discapacidad.

Inclusive education is part of the regional development mission of the Banyuwangi Regency in the 2016-2021 RPJMD "Realizing Accessibility and Quality of Education Services.” The aim of this innovation is for all levels of schools to accept children with disabilities or to provide inclusive education. This study aims to determine the social development benefits of an inclusive education program in PAUD Cerdas, Banyuwangi, Indonesia. There were 130 students, 46 of whom had special needs such as ADHD, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, or speech and hearing impairments. The methodology used was Qualitative research was conducted through interviews with a headmaster, teacher, and a student parent. According to the research findings, it appears that the Inclusivity Education Program at PAUD CERDAS has the potential to enhance students social development, including communication skills, independence, and respect. Students’ parents demonstrated positive self-esteem by developing patience and gratitude to God. In addition, inclusive education programs for early childhood have a greater potential for social development to continue education to the next level because their golden age is given a positive stimulus. In conclusion, it is believed that an inclusivity education program for early childhood has the potential to enhance social development.

This study focuses on children’s voices as they were presented in Swedish newspapers during the COVID-19 pandemic. It explores the ways in which journalists featured children’s experiences of everyday life during a time of crisis. A descriptive, thematic text analysis of 83 articles resulted in four prominent themes: children’s voices as a mouthpiece for or against school closure, children as cocreators of a new normal daily life, children as responsible and caring citizens, and COVID-19 as a magnifying glass for existing vulnerabilities in everyday life. The selection and representation of children’s viewpoints was adult led and limited, and the study thus calls for further research on media constructions of children/childhood and related consequences.
