Representation of the Great Patriotic War Events in Historical Consciousness of Higher School Students of Non-Historical Specialities

Abstract

The article presents the results of studying technical students’ unsupervised work with scientific publications covering the events of 1941-1945. The author identifies their cognitive preferences, provides examples of students’ commentaries when reviewing the chosen articles. The analysis of students - non-historians’ unsupervised work has indicated that the problems of the Great Patriotic War are represented in their historical consciousness but the focus should be on further development of the existing conceptions and on securing their stability.
