Abstract

We appreciate the thoughtful literature analysis and comments on our article by Hawkes et al. 1 The majority of patients with limited-stage diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (LS-DLBCL) have excellent outcomes, and our results in the National Clinical Trials Network S1001 trial demonstrate the ability to successfully de-escalate therapy using a positron emission tomography (PET)-adapted approach in a multicenter national phase II trial setting. This approach is associated with a paucity of relapses and the ability to spare radiotherapy in a significant portion of patients.
