“…This includes the genes encoding glucokinase GLX1 , pyruvate kinase PYK2 , hexokinase HXK1 and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase TDH1 . It has previously been reported that yeast metabolism can be affected by various types of radiation treatment, but can also reflect the environmental stress response of yeast activated after various kinds of stresses [ 12 , 36 , 37 , 38 ].…”

“…The Candida yeast species are more radio-resistant compared to other yeast cells such as for example Saccharomyces cerevisiae . For C. guilliermondii , the LD50 (semi-lethal dose) value for X-rays is about 720 Gy ( Navasardyan et al, 2017 ), and for S. cerevisiae 300 Gy ( Navasardyan et al, 2017 ) or even 60 Gy ( Guo et al, 2018a ). The radiation-induced decrease in the percentage of surviving cells leads to the lengthening of the lag phase of the growth of X-ray-irradiated yeast.…”

“…In this report, it was pointed to the enrichment of DEGs in detoxification and antioxidation activity categories of gene ontology at 1 hour. 22 Guintini et al studied the repair of telomeres after UV radiation on S. cerevisiae. 23 We highlighted telomeres as the targeted parts of S. cerevisiae in the previous investigations (In press data).…”
