Renewable Energy Sources in the Lubusz Voivodship (Poland). The Present Conditions and Perspectives for Development

Abstract: The article presents the present situation in terms of energy production from renewable energy sources and perspectives for development, based on research on the existing resources and possibilities of using them. The Lubusz Voivodship is not an important energy producer in Poland. In terms of the amount of energy produced it comes twelfth out of sixteen voivodships. The annual energy production from renewable energy sources is 290,9 GWh, which is 11.6% of the total energy produced. At the end of 2014 there we… Show more

“…The production of energy from biomass has become more and more common recently, especially in the form of co-combustion with coal [1,2]. The share of biomass in the production of energy from renewable energy sources in Poland is increasing [3,4]. During the combustion of biomass, a significant amount of fly ash and bottom ash is produced, which may be a significant environmental challenge [5,6] as well as a problem for boilers [7][8][9][10].…”

“…In some cases, the lack of some unambiguous statistical confirmation is due to the smaller scope of renewable energy in these countries compared to other EU member states [55]. Besides, internal variations also occur in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe [56]. They also result from settlement characteristics.…”
