“…I t should be noted that it is essential to use animals free of laboratory rodent infection ; otherwise postoperative pneumonia will become a problem. In our experience the method of ureteric anastomosis we used proved successful, and we are in agreement with Salaman (1969) that the use of a bladder patch frequently gives rise to complications. A further advantage of the method described is that the donor aorta, vena cava and bladder are untouched, so that the donor may then be kept for further grafting procedures between the two animals, which may be of particular importance when inbred strains are not being used.…”

“…IILNAL allolransplantation in the rat is proving a very useful research tool, and several methods have been described (Lee, 1967 ;Guttrnan et alii, 1967 ;Danniller et a&;, 1968;Salaman, 1969). The method now described, which incorporates soiiie of the previously descrilied techniques, is followed by a high rate of technical success.…”

“…Our data from the AS-AS2 combination (Table I) attain additional interest in light of the independent study of Salaman (1969) of the same strain combination. Unlike us, he has grafted kidneys in both directions between the two parental strains.…”

“…Especificamente em ratos, foi Salaman, em 1969 e Ekelund e Olin, em 1970, que estudaram o sistema arterial do animal pela cateterização da artéria femoral, procedimento delicado e de difícil utilização para exames repetidos ou seriados 4,5 .…”
