“…Renal biopsy is an invasive but safe procedure that is required for the diagnosis and management of various clinical spectrum of renal diseases in children. 9 Renal biopsy in children is done with extreme caution after adequate preparation and all precautions are taken to obtain good tissue samples with minimal risk of complications and discomfort to the child. Failure rate of 5.3% was observed in this study as compared to 2.3 to 11.8% in other studies.…”

As an added complexity, our patient had a single kidney due to prior nephrectomy and, therefore, kidney biopsy was discarded then of evaluating the risks and benefits (18). Preliminary clinical data seem to show that systemic corticosteroids and other immunosuppressant drugs used for immune-related adverse events might not have such a negative impact on efficacy.…”

“…I will now present the rationale for renal biopsy to establish renal diagnoses [1]. The classification which follows is the opinion of the author and editor based on over 45 years of experience and exposure to the pioneers in use of renal biopsy for diagnosis [2][3][4]. My goal is to simplify this argument for performing this invasive procedure to clarify the confusing array of renal diseases with indistinct or asymptomatic presentations.…”
