Removal of Radionuclides from Aqueous Solution by Manganese Dioxide-Based Nanomaterials and Mechanism Research: A Review

Abstract: Manganese dioxide (MnO 2 ) is an environmentally friendly metal oxide. The characteristics of diverse morphology, rich crystal forms, and controllable particle size make MnO 2 flexibly adaptive to multiple requirements, attracting researchers in multidisciplinary fields. It is worth noting that MnO 2 and its derived materials have shown outstanding research progress in the treatment of radioactive pollutants in the past few decades. Given the need to summarize the research advances, this reivew surveys the ach… Show more

“…Relevant scholars used a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to carry out post-evaluation research into the environmental impact of the reservoir when conducting the post-evaluation of the environmental impact of the Fengjiashan Reservoir, expounding the relevant theories and technical methods of the post-evaluation of the environmental impact of the project [17]. On the basis of on-site investigation, the environmental impact of Fengjiashan Reservoir was analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively by using the method of comparison, and finally the beneficial and negative impacts of the reservoir were analyzed systematically [18][19][20].…”

“…[ 29 ] Advanced instrumental characterization (such as XPS, X‐ray absorption near edge structure (XANES), and extended X‐Ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS)) is used to study the adsorption mechanism. [ 126 ] The XPS spectrum of Cr 2p of nZVI‐Alk‐Ti 3 C 2 after Cr(VI) adsorption shows that there are Cr(VI) peaks at 578.8 and 588.6eV and Cr(III) peaks at 576.8 and 586.7 eV, respectively. [ 127 ] The negatively charged Cr(VI) ions (HCrO 4 − ) is adsorbed on the Ti 3 C 2 surface by the oppositely charged H + or Fe n + .…”

“…Manganese is easily oxidized to manganese dioxide [19]. Manganese dioxide is an excellent adsorbent material due to its large specific surface area and strong electrochemical properties [20]. Manganese is located in the fourth period of the chemical periodic table in Group VIIB.…”
