Removal of Heavy Metal Ions by Photoelectrodeposition in Aqueous Solutions

Abstract: In order to remove hazardous heavy metal ions dissolved in an aqueous environment, the photoelectrodeposition effect on the removal of Pb(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), and Zn(II) ions has been investigated for the (CeO2)1-X(Ln2O3)X (Ln = La, Sm, Gd) photocatalyst oxide particles combined with fine α-FeOOH particles. This effect is also compared with titanium-based oxides.
