Reliability, validity, and sensitivity to change of the Cochin hand functional disability scale in hand osteoarthritis

Abstract: The Cochin hand functional disability scale which was first developed to assess the rheumatoid hand can be used to evaluate functional disability in hand OA.

“…The Cochin Index was developed at the Cochin Hospital in Paris to assess physical function of the hand in 96 patients with rheumatoid arthritis [26]. The Cochin and Dreiser indices and several other instruments were administered 1 hour apart to 96 patients with OA [27].
