“…Overall, the classification of a pronated foot type was 2.4 times more likely than a supinated foot type. The limited number of individuals classified as having a supinated foot was consistent with prior reports that used the FPI-6 classification 11 and was in contrast to the 14.2% (n = 142) of the participants with a documented high arch, based on AHI values enrolled in this study. 37 However, the FPI-6 composite scores measured in this study were similar to the normative cutoff values from the retrospective analysis of 619 observations from a normal adult sample by Redmond et al 31 When Redmond et al 31 compared these 619 feet with 1029 observations of pathological feet from a sample that included individuals with neurogenic and idiopathic cavus feet, group differences and increased distribution of FPI-6 composite scores were noted.…”

“…These values are comparable to previously published reliability values. 8,11,15,25,27 The arch height index (AHI) was also assessed on all participants as a quantitative assessment of arch height normalized to foot length. 7,24 Heel-to-toe length was measured as the distance from the most posterior aspect of the heel to the longest toe.…”
