Reliability Availability Maintainability Analysis in Forming Industry

Abstract: The availability of the machine is the major consideration of all manufacturing industries. This activity leads to decide productivity of the industry. This research paper explained in detail about the availability analysis of the Timing Belt (V-Belt) manufacturing systems in the rubber industry. The performance of the belt manufacturing systems is analyzed by using the Markovian Birth-Death approach in all conditions of the systems like Raw, Reduced capacity and Repair (RRR). The transition diagram of the bel… Show more

“…Most of the manufacturing system of SMEs are complex with networks of numerous subsystems, and the uptime of such a system is decided by bottleneck/critical subsystems, and thus the maintenance function of the system starts with identifying those critical subsystems. Identification of critical subsystems based on the availability prediction analysis by employing the Markov decision model and MATLAB R2019a software was already done in our previous research work [25][26][27]. Our earlier research is vital to the industrial case study undertaken in this work.…”

“…In the same way, Velmurugan et al . (2019a, b) described the RAM analysis of the manufacturing industry and the optimal maintenance policy of SMEs through the utilization of the Markov Birth Death process. To propose the new maintenance framework, with the maximum availability of the given manufacturing process, and identify the most critical machine components based on the availability variation in the industry, Vikrant and Goyal (2016) demonstrated the analysis of the availability changes in the paper-making manufacturing industry through the application of the Markov model technology with the GA technique for identifying the optimized maintenance parameters to achieve the maximum availability of the manufacturing system in the paper-making industry.…”
