Reliability analysis of bolt‐supported tunnels regarded as homogenized structures

Abstract: This paper presents a reliability analysis of deep tunnels reinforced by fully grouted bolts using a homogenization approach. From the constitutive viewpoint, the anisotropic elastoplastic behavior of bolted rock mass is formulated in the context of the homogenization method. Reliability design analysis is undertaken considering the configurations of both radial and face bolts used separately or in association. The combination of rock bolting associated with classical shotcrete lining is also addressed. Restri… Show more

“…The anchor bolt is widely used in support engineering because of its advantages of speedy installation and applicability to most types of rocks [1][2][3][4]. With the development and implementation of underground engineering, the characteristics of high ground stress, extremely broken surrounding rock and extralarge sections are becoming increasingly common, and the support of surrounding rock is also facing severe challenges [5][6][7].…”

“…Using an anchor rod support is one of the most commonly employed techniques in the field of geotechnical support [1,2]. In tunnel construction, under the conditions of a significant burial depth, high stress, soft rock, and fractured surrounding rocks, [3,4] the requirements of the anchoring force and load-bearing capacity of rock bolts are significant for the stability control of the surrounding rocks in the tunnel.…”
