Relay Selection Joint Consecutive Packet Routing Scheme to Improve Performance for Wake-Up Radio-Enabled WSNs

Abstract: Reducing energy consumption, increasing network throughput, and reducing delay are the pivot issues for wake-up radio- (WuR-) enabled wireless sensor networks (WSNs). In this paper, a relay selection joint consecutive packet routing (RS-CPR) scheme is proposed to reduce channel competition conflicts and energy consumption, increase network throughput, and then reduce end-to-end delay in data transmission for WuR-enabled WSNs. The main innovations of the RS-CPR scheme are as follows: (1) Relay selection: when s… Show more

“…However, numerous challenges still emerge when massive data enter big data networks. Communication between sensing devices follows a basic protocol [30] and creates challenges in big data networks due to its influence on every aspect of big data network performance [31][32][33][34][35][36]. Device-to-device (D2D) communication has attracted considerable research interest as a basic mode of network computing [30,36].…”

“…However, when the node is in the sleep state, it will deteriorate the network performance, since the node cannot be aware of the event when the node is in the sleep state, and cannot receive and send data [36][37][38]. If the event occurs in the sleep state of the node, the node cannot sense the event at this time, and it is necessary to wait until the sensor node switches to the awaking state to sense the event.…”
