Relativity Theory Refounded

Abstract: We put forward a new view of relativity theory that makes the existence of a flow of time compatible with the four-dimensional block universe. To this end, we apply the creation-discovery view elaborated for quantum mechanics to relativity theory and in such a way that time and space become creations instead of discoveries and an underlying non temporal and non spatial reality comes into existence. We study the nature of this underlying non temporal and non spatial reality and reinterpret many aspects of the t… Show more

“…Indeed, the possibility of creating a condition of entanglement between two micro-entities appears not to depend on the spatial distance separating them or, to put it in more precise terms, appears not to depend on the spatial distance between the locations where the entangled entities can be detected with high probability. A characteristic of quantum entanglement (a direct consequence of the superposition principle) is that it is ubiquitous, 11 in the sense that quantum entities naturally entangle whenever they are allowed to interact and will typically remain entangled for as long as nothing intervenes to disentangle them (to decohere them). This ubiquitousness of entanglement mirrors the ubiquitousness of the meaningconnections that are unavoidably present in any conceptual realm.…”

“…In other words, the symmetry is broken by observing that B experiences accelerations that are not experienced by A (neglecting those associated with the rotation of the planet). One should not conclude, however, that the observed time-dilation effect (or length contraction effect, from the viewpoint of the traveling entity) would be caused by these accelerations: it is in fact the geometric structure of the worldlines associated with the two entities that is responsible for the time dilation, which is truly defined by the Lorentz-invariant length corresponding to the so-called proper time interval associated with them [11].…”

“…Therefore, of necessity, the dualistic IGUS should possess that particular veridical component of manifest time, and it does, namely 'completed change.' The veridicality of change is also endorsed by Aerts [23] in his theory of 'Refounding Relativity' where he provides a method to account for the dynamism of change. Important is the fact that the dualistic IGUS has both and satisfies physics and psychology.…”

“…That theory is based upon a suggested growth of spacetime atoms in a non-physical mathematical construct to provide the physical occurrence of an event. Aerts [23,40] has a spacetime cosmological view in which he insists with good arguments that change is the one time parameter that must be real. For him, 'coming into existence' is said to be the flow in the FOT.…”
