Abstract:In recent times, nonlinear ultrasonic inspection has become a very reliable technique to characterize micro-scale cracks and small-scale delaminations. In this paper, an analytical framework is developed for the orthotropic composite plate to calculate the variation of relative acoustic nonlinearity parameter, a quantitative measurement of nonlinearity at the delamination region. The analytical investigation is justified with numerical and experimental research using a carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) pl… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
