Hypertonic saline illjections induced more water and air drinking in 10 nondeprived rats than did isotonic saline. 1n a second experiment, scopolamine hydrochloride sllppressed both water and air drinking in nine thirsty rats, in COli trast with isotollic saline. In a third experiment, olfactory blilb ablatioll had no measllrable effect lIpon air drinking ill rats.
