“…One hundred and sixty-two adults with T2DM, 21 years and older, attending the outpatient clinic of OOUTH and able to grant an interview were consecutively recruited during the study period (March 2016 to May 2017). Sample size was determined with the assumption of moderate effect size at significant criterion of 0.05 with the formula N = 8K + 40, where N is the sample size and K is the number of variables 15. To achieve statistically significant prediction using Poisson regression analysis at α = 0.05 with 10 variables, the calculated sample size is 120:[8 × 10 + 40].…”

“…Os participantes foram selecionados por meio de uma técnica de amostragem intencional. Antes da seleção, o tamanho da amostra foi determinado com base na fórmula n=40 + 8M, onde n=tamanho da amostra e M=número de variáveis (13) . Neste estudo, as variáveis desfecho são a qualidade de vida e o índice de sobrecarga do cuidador modificado.…”

“…Although factors associated with DRSCA have received a lot of research attention, as shown by a meta‐synthesis (Schulman‐Green, Jaser, Park, & Whittemore, ), there is no sufficient explanation for non‐adherence to self‐care activities (Blackburn et al, ). Therefore, interest in exploring the role of psychological resources for promoting DRSCA among patients with T2DM has recently emerged (Al‐Hassan, Al‐Akour, & Aburas, ). It is suggested that researchers should also consider patients’ inner strengths (Schiavon, Marchetti, Gurgel, Busnello, & Reppold, ; Wu et al, ).…”
