Relationship between Knitting Parameters and Mechanical Properties of Warp Knitting Mesh Fabric

Abstract: The warp knitting parameters are important to determine the knitting process and the mechanical properties of warp knitting mesh fabric. In this work, the relationship between different knitting parameters (mesh side length and the let-off value) and the mechanical properties were studied. The effect of knitting parameters on the tensile strength and elongation was investigated by experiment. As a result, the relationship between the mechanical properties and the two parameters was found, and the optimization … Show more

“…The reason may be the dielectric loss caused by the coating membrane. According to our previous research, there were some molybdenum particles both on and in the raw gilt molybdenum wires [ 21 ]. After coating, a part of these conductive molybdenum particles dispersed in the PI coating membrane acting as absorbents.…”

“…Subsequently, the PI-coated gilt molybdenum wires were fabricated into mesh fabrics by a modified warp knitting machine designed for metal wires, which was discussed in our previous study [ 21 ]. An uncoated gilt molybdenum wire mesh was also prepared for comparative purposes, as shown in Figure 1 b.…”

“…Mohammad et al [ 9 ] compared the mechanical properties of several different types of warp knitting meshes used for hernia repair. Zhang et al [ 10 , 11 ] analyzed the knitting parameters, such as drawing off density and warp run-in, on the mechanical properties of the diamond warp-knitted mesh fabric. However, these researches are mainly under uniaxial loads, which sometimes cannot sufficiently describe the performance when simultaneously subjected to multi-axial stresses in real conditions.…”
