Relationship between gut microbiota and rheumatoid arthritis: A bibliometric analysis

Abstract: IntroductionRheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a multifactorial autoimmune disease. Recently, growing evidence demonstrates that gut microbiota (GM) plays an important role in RA. But so far, no bibliometric studies pertaining to GM in RA have ever been published. This study attempts to depict the knowledge framework in this field from a holistic and systematic perspective based on the bibliometric analysis.MethodsLiterature related to the involvement of GM in RA was searched and picked from the Web of Science Core … Show more

“…In contrast, "Motor Themes" denote highly relevant and extensively developed research areas, such as exploring the complications of rheumatoid arthritis on oral health and quality of life, often involving interdisciplinary studies and patient-centered outcomes research. Lastly, "Emerging and Declining Themes" indicate areas experiencing increasing or diminishing importance over time, revealing shifts in research priorities, such as emerging interests in microbiome research [ 20 , 21 ] and declining emphasis on previously extensively studied topics.…”

“…Currently, widely utilized bibliometric software includes the bibliometrix package in R 4.2.1, VOSviewer 1.6.18 and CiteSpace 6.1.R3. [ 16 , 17 ] Researchers can leverage bibliometric analysis to swiftly comprehend the current status and trends in a specific field, thereby guiding future research endeavors. In this study, Microsoft Excel, the bibliometrix package in R software, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace software will be employed to analyze the literature on robot-assisted thyroid surgery from the past 2 decades, offering valuable references for researchers and clinical practitioners engaged in the advancement of robot-assisted thyroid surgery.…”

“…Recent studies have suggested a link between gut microbiota and rheumatic diseases, with dysbiosis observed in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus [9,10]. The mechanisms by which the gut microbiota contributes to the development of these diseases are not fully understood.…”
