Abstract: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder and a major global problem. Coffee contains several bioactive compounds, such as caffeine, chlorogenic acid, trigonelline, cafestol, and kahweol, associated with a reduced risk of type 2 DM.
