“…Complications arising from this procedure are rare and generally transient and mild, usually consisting of haematomas and chemosis. In a case series of 10 patients, Beier et al reported a very low complication rate with good to very good cosmetic results for areola reconstruction using local flap plasty or nipple sharing together with full-thickness skin grafts from the upper eyelids [7].
