Abstract:The Mixed Mode Bending (MMB) test is a standardized material characterization technique used to determine the strain energy release rate and fracture toughness of layered composite materials under a range of combined mode I and mode II loading conditions. The compliance of any fixture’s internal components lessens the material characterization accuracy by introducing error into the displacement measurement. Correcting for system compliance often involves complex post-processing of data. To reduce error in the … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
