Regulation of survival and chemoresistance by HSP90AA1 in ovarian cancer SKOV3 cells

Abstract: Previous researches have showed that HSP90AA is important in ovarian cancer, but the mechanism of HSP90AA is still unknown. This study aimed to investigate the role of the potential therapy target protein HSP90AA1 in ovarian cancer. The level of HSP90AA1 in ovarian cancer SKOV3 cell line was altered by RNAi and overexpression. Survival of these cell lines was investigated by tetrazolium-based assay and fluorescence-activated cell sorter (FACS). The chemosensitivity to cisplatin of the cell was also tested by F… Show more

“…In summary, HSP90 has been linked to chemoresistance in different clinical settings including breast cancer [36][37][38][39][40][41].The described study of Song et al [29] corroborates the observations that low HSP90 expression is a positive prognostic feature. In our study we pinpointed the predictive aspect of the association of HSP90 with proliferation markers and its association with the higher response to chemotherapy.…”

“…Two investigators (Yifan Sun and Shan Li) assessed the quality of the selected studies independently, following the criteria predefined by Thakkinstian et al [ 18 ] and used by Ye et al [ 19 ]( S1 Table ). The criteria were the sources of the cases and controls, the total sample size, the source of the specimens, and the HWE of the controls.…”

“…The significant role of HSP90AA1 and HSP90AB1 in several cancer types such as lung cancer, ovarian cancer, and GS is detected and discussed (38)(39)(40). The attenuation role of IL2 in growth of glioma and brain edema in rats is assessed and discussed in details (41).…”
