Chen et al, 2019;Horn & Merante, 2017), travelers' experience of home-sharing products (e.g., Guttentag & Smith, 2017;Ju et al, 2019;J. L. “…However, claims that consumption patterns pioneered by USOs result in a decrease of industrial production and the related negative human-induced impact on the environment have been questioned (Voytenko Palgan et al., 2017, Plepys and Singh, 2019). Furthermore, some USOs have been criticised by urban citizens, incumbent market actors, city-level policymakers and academia for disrupting product and service markets traditionally ingrained in urban environments, which might also have negative consequences for economic and social sustainability in cities (Katz, 2015, Martin, 2016, Williams and Horodnic, 2017). This disruption of prevailing institutions can be demonstrated with a case from the urban mobility sector: car sharing and ride sharing organisations such as Drivy or Uber are shown to be disrupting private car ownership, but also public transportation systems (Martin and Shaheen, 2011, Meyer and Shaheen, 2017).…”

“…Additional socio-economic effects of sharing economy have been identified with regards to new trends in consumer behaviour (Tussyadiah and Pesonen, 2015;Pappas, 2017), behaviours of operators and value co-creation (Camilleri and Neuhofer, 2017;Johnson and Neuhofer, 2017). Furthermore, the spread of these models has created concern about legal issues (Guttentag, 2015;Williams and Horodnic, 2017).…”
