Regression test selection using class, sequence and activity diagrams

Abstract: Regression test selection is a process to select a subset of existing test cases, which are then used with some new test cases for regression testing. Regression testing ensures that the changes made to the system have not affected the existing functionality. To date, there is no adequate technique which can do regression test selection by considering changes in semantics of operations (along with the other syntax and semantics changes) using UML diagrams. Change in semantics of an operation refers to the chan… Show more

“…In this way, concurrent agents save time as compared with other existing techniques. We have empirically evaluated and compared our results against Library system and ATM with Mansoor [28] and Dahiya [31] in terms of number of test cases generated. We have further enhanced the subject systems with Object-Z and OCL specifications to improve semantic analysis.…”

“…The SD‐based test cases have been generated by various researchers [2–23]. The research articles have been selected from the literature that presented the test cases generation for OO systems using unified modelling language (UML) SDs.…”

“…However, for experimentation this technique manually implanted error, which leads to biasness in result. Dahiya et al (2016) presented an approach for regression test selection using class, sequence and activity diagrams. This work compared old and new versions of UML diagrams to categorise test cases into several category to find out the change operations, which provided significant increase in accuracy.…”
