“…GA06343‐13E2 (TX‐EL2) was medium maturing SRWW (108 and 105 d) in the 2015–2016 (Table 1) and 2016–2017 (Table 2) USSRWWNs, respectively, and was similar to AGS 2000 (105 d) in 2015–2016 but a bit later in 2016–2017 (103 d), earlier than ‘Hilliard’ (PI 676271; Griffey et. al., 2020) in 2015–2016 (112 d) and similar (105 d) to it in heading in the 2016–2017 USSRWWN. It was earlier than Pioneer Brand ‘26R41’ in both the 2015–2016 (114 d) and 2016–2017 (107 d) USSRWWNs.…”

“…One of the major goals in breeding programs is to develop varieties that perform similarly across locations, years and environments for wider adaptability and longevity. Therefore, before the release of a new variety, it is evaluated in trials to assess G x E interaction [13]. These trials are done across different locations and for several years to ensure consistent performance of the variety, or stability.…”

“…Based on the 3‐yr (2018−2020) average of Virginia Bread Wheat Elite Trials, Hardy 2519 had a medium head emergence date of 118 d (days from 1 January), which was 7 d earlier than that of Vision 45 and the same as that of Vision 30 (Table 1). Hardy 2519 had medium plant height of 86 cm, which was the same as that of ‘Hilliard’ (PI 676271; Griffey et al., 2020); it was 4 cm taller than Vision 30 (82 cm) and 9 cm shorter than Vision 45. Hardy 2519 also had medium straw strength (0 = erect to 9 = completely lodged) of 2.3, which was similar to that of ‘Karl 92’ (2.2) (PI 564245; Sears, Martin, et al., 1997).…”
