Regionalization and Shaping Factors for Microbiomes and Core Resistomes in Atmospheric Particulate Matters

Abstract: Bacteria associated with atmospheric particulate matter (APMs) can transmit over long distances. A large portion of these bacteria can potentially threaten human health.

“…Also, the AST test elucidated that Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria resistance to ampicillin that agree with [26] who, showed resistance to amoxicillin/clavulanic acid, ampicillin, cefoxitin, cefotaxime, mupirocin, oxacillin, tetracyclines, and macrolides While Sphingomonas paucimobilis isolate was resistance to Ceftazidime and Trimethoprim / Sulfamethoxazole ,the results compatible with [27],who found four of six isolated of S. paucimobilis had resistance to Ceftazidime and Trimethoprim / Sulfamethoxazole antibiotic resistance patterns under his study. In the Table (7), the percentage of resistance towards ermA and tetK genes are clarified for the isolated bacteria as they were highly resistant to both of erythromycin and tetracycline that are encoded by ermA and tetK genes, respectively. Table 7.…”

“…Selective pressure created by high concentrations of antibiotics existence besides environmental changes can fasten the spreading of antibiotics resistance-genes (ARGs) among various species of bacteria [6]. Atmospheric particulate matters (APM), which are mixture of inorganic and organic with biological components, can tightly affect the ARGs spreading besides affected general human health [7]. Air-borne biological particulates that include the bacteria, viruses, pollens, fungi spores besides PM particulates might result into many adverse huge effects onto human health especially via dust storms [8].…”
