Regional variations in cholecystectomy rates in Sweden: impact on complications of gallstone disease

Abstract: There are wide regional variations in cholecystectomy rates in Sweden. The present study does not give support that frequent use of cholecystectomy in uncomplicated gallstone disease prevents future gallstone complications.
